About the Fund

Fairfield Sentry Ltd. (“Sentry”) was incorporated in the British Virgin Islands on 30 October 1990.  The directors of Sentry are Walter Noel Junior (a US national), Peter Schmidt (a Swiss national) and Jan Naess (a Norwegian national).

Sentry carried on business as an investment fund, largely operating as a “feeder fund” into Bernard L. Madoff Investments Securities LLC (“BLMIS”). Sentry was the largest feeder fund into BMIS with approximately $7.2 billion invested as at the end of October 2008.

Sentry, as at the date of liquidation has issued 4,692,549.74 shares with a nominal value of $0.01 per share, held by 725 Registered Shareholders.

The Registered Office for Sentry was care of the address of the Companies’ Registered Agent Codan Trust Company (B.V.I.) Ltd, PO Box 3140, Romasco Place, Wickhams Cay 1, Road Town, Tortola, BVI.

The Auditors for the years ending 31 December up to 2005 was PricewaterhouseCoopers Accountants N.V., P O Box 8800, 3009 AV Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The Auditor for the years ending 31 December 2006 and 2007 was PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, 77 King Street West, RT Tower, Toronto, M4K 1G8 Canada. Sentry did not instruct to have an audit for the year ending 31 December 2008.

The Administrator, Registrar and Transfer Agent for Sentry was Citco Fund Services (Europe) B.V., Telestone 8 – Teleport, Naritaweg 165, 1043 BW Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Sentry’s Custodian was Citco Bank Nederland B.V. (Dublin Branch) (“Citco”), No 6 Custom Plaza (Level 3), Harbourmaster Place, Dublin, Co Dublin 1, Ireland. Sentry’s Depository was Citco Global Custody N.V., Telestone 8 – Teleport, Naritaweg 165, 1043 BV Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Citco entered sub‐custodian arrangements with BLMIS.

The Investment Manager for Sentry was Fairfield Greenwich (Bermuda) Limited, 14 Par La Ville Road, 3rd Floor, Hamilton Bermuda.

The Companies’ BVI Attorney and principal legal advisor was Conyers, Dill & Pearman, PO Box 3140, Romasco Place, Wickhams Cay 1, Road Town, Tortola, BVI. The Companies’ US Attorney (until November 2008) was Mr. Andrew Goldstein, previously a sole practitioner of 488 Madison Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10022, USA and latterly of DLA Piper, 1251 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10020‐1104, USA. The Companies’ US Attorney after November 2008 was Seward & Kissel LLP, One Battery Park Plaza, New York, NY 10004, USA.

Sentry’s shares were listed on the Irish Stock Exchange. Sentry made an announcement to the Irish Stock exchange on 18 December 2008 that it was suspending the calculation of its Net Asset Value. Subsequently, on 28 May 2009 the Irish Stock Exchange officially de‐listed the Company.

Sentry was registered as a professional fund under Section 20(1) of the Mutual Funds Act, 1996 (as amended), British Virgin Islands.

On 21 July 2009, Mr. Christopher Stride and Mr. Kenneth Krys of KRyS Global were jointly appointed as Liquidators of Sentry pursuant to Claim No. 2009/136. Ms. Joanna Lau replaced Mr. Stride on 6 September 2010, and subsequently resigned on 23 November 2011.   Mrs. Charlotte Caulfield was appointed joint liquidator on 24 June 2014.
